Ray County Senior Center Julie Anderson (with scissors) and Ray County Senior Service Board Chairwoman Jane Bartlett (at right) do the honors of the ceremonial ribbon cutting on Friday (May 28, 2010) that officially changes the name of the fellowship center to Ray County Senior Center. 

Interested Senior Citizens, Chamber members, Ray County Officials, Representative Bob Nance and others were on hand for the event at the Eagleton Center which is Ray County's Community Center and the location of both the Senior Center and the RCSSB office.

Above: Seniors enjoying the Carry in Dinner June 15th, 2010.  "The Boss Man", Roger Elliott played music, and the County Commissioners grilled. Approximately 60 people had a very fun day. The Ray County Senior Services Board sponsors our monthly carry in dinners.

Shown with the Center's new kiln are Ceramic Volunteers Azalia Gant and Judy Dukes who are available at our Senior Center on Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. to assist with Painting Green Ware and Bisque. 
 
The kiln was  purchased with a grant from the Ray County Senior Services Board.  This Kiln, the newest technology, is not just for ceramics since it will also melt glass for those who are interested in jewelry making.

Marjorie Outersky is using the Low Vision Monitor at the Ray County Senior Center.  Marjorie helped in setting up the Low Vision Center which is good news for those with difficulties reading.
 
The Ray County Senior Center is now a Low Vision Center with a Low Vision Screen for those who are 55 years of age or older, a Missouri resident and unable to read a newspaper article but able to read the headlines.
 
Magnifying glasses and other aids are also available.

Exercise: Tuesday and Friday, 10:00-11:00 a.m.
Line dancing: Wednesday, 9:00-11:00 a.m.
Ceramics: Tuesday, 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
Mondays are movie day.
Card party on first and third Thursday, 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Special Attributes: Medicare Part D sign ups.
